Fazenda Chapadão de Ferro sits at 1,188 m in the Cerrado Mineiro, inside an old volcanic cone that gives the coffee its own character. Carlúcio Barbosa dos Santos started out in 1994 when his uncle introduced him to coffee around Patrocínio. He married into a coffee family, started with three hectares alongside his brother in law, and grew it to 20. Today the whole family works the farm, from planting to drying. In the cup: brown sugar, dark chocolate, and dried dates.
