Our passion for specialty coffee is matched only by our commitment to quality, from harvest to packaging. Like rocket engineers fine-tuning their spaceships, we meticulously oversee every step of our coffee's journey.

This dedication ensures that each cup of Syzygy Coffee is not just a drink, but an extraordinary experience, crafted to deliver a taste that’s truly out of this world.

STEP 1: Working With The Coffee Farmers

We collaborate with passionate farmers who share our love for specialty coffee. These farmers are crucial to our high-quality coffee, and we affectionately refer to them as our Astronauts. They initiate the incredible journey that each cup of our coffee undertakes. Initially, we order small samples from them, usually between 200 to 350 grams of green coffee.

STEP 2: Choosing The Best Green Beans

We're passionate about quality; some would say obsessive. As Specialty Roasters, we only roast beans that meet our strict criteria. We handpick the finest green beans based on size, moisture content, and overall quality to ensure you enjoy only the best coffee. Our selection process is enhanced by our certification from the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA), ensuring expertly chosen beans every time.

STEP 3: Roasting the Coffee

To unlock the fullest potential flavor and tasting notes, we carefully roast the green beans. The roasting process caramelizes the sugars in the beans—originating from the beans' natural fermentation. This caramelization turns the beans brown, akin to how sugar transforms into caramel upon heating, thanks to the Maillard Reaction. This chemical reaction is key to developing the rich brown color and deep flavor profile of our coffee.

STEP 4: Cupping the Coffee

Our roasted coffee undergoes a rigorous quality check known as 'Cupping.' In this process, we pour hot water over freshly ground coffee and taste each sample thoroughly. We note the flavors, aromas, and any distinct characteristics, focusing on what we enjoy and what we don't. This detailed selection process ensures that only the finest coffee samples make it to our customers.

STEP 5: Repeat

Once we identify the superior coffee samples, we place large orders to maintain our stock. We rigorously repeat our quality assurance process to ensure these larger batches meet the same high standards set by the initial samples. This step is crucial for maintaining consistency and excellence in every batch.

STEP 6: Enjoy!

Once the second round of testing is complete, we add the coffee to our store. We only roast it once you place an order, guaranteeing that you receive the freshest, most delightful coffee imaginable. This method ensures that every cup you savor is a testament to freshness, quality, and an unmatched coffee-tasting experience - we promise!
